What's shipped

A real, dated log of what's changed — no marketing spin, just what's new and why it matters for your bids.

Updated October 2026

Oct 9, 2026

Existing walls set aside, a hand-measure tool, quote export, and an honest test result

  • Oct 9: the existing-wall legend check now allows labels up to 100 characters, rejects "TO BE REMOVED" rows, and matches plan grays within 0.15 of the legend swatch. On Freeport Square sheet A201 the count went from 1,280 LF to 24 LF (1,403 LF set aside as existing); the whole set went from 7,470 LF to 944 LF. On the other legend-bearing test sets, 5 of 6 were unchanged. Walls drawn only on enlarged-plan sheets (for example A207) are still skipped.
  • Oct 9: we ran free, signed-out ChatGPT on the same sheet. It estimated 220 LF of new walls where the sheet draws none. Read the test.
  • Oct 8: new hand-measure tool. Trace a line or area point by point; points snap to the sheet's vector endpoints and the item is labeled "Hand-measured" in the export.
  • Oct 8: new quote export. A priced PDF or Excel quote from a takeoff, pre-filled from resolved wall types only; ambiguous rows are listed as "confirm first" and never priced.
  • Oct 7: auto-detect now skips other-discipline sheets by sheet number and reads EXISTING CONSTRUCTION legends. Oct 5: walls drawn in a legend's EXISTING fill are left out. Oct 1: coded partition tags (for example 0S3B) are decoded from the document's own key, schedules on rotated sheets are read, and wall-shaped sheet furniture repeated across pages is dropped.
  • Oct 7, tested and not fixed: on three public Missouri state bid sets, auto-match was 0% of 3,571 LF, 0% of 4,466 LF and 0.3% of 674 LF, because the partition types are drawn as graphic details or coded tags the legend reader cannot match. Those results need hand-finishing.
  • Oct 1: your first plan set is free for every new account, no card needed.

Two real site bugs fixed, and a real bar-scale reading gap closed

  • Fixed the "Get started" button running off the edge of the screen on phones — present on every page except the homepage, now fixed everywhere.
  • Fixed a dark-mode bug where five different sections (the final call-to-action, the two on-site feature videos, comparison-page highlight cards, and the tour page's CTA) turned into unreadable light-background blocks in dark mode instead of staying dark navy.
  • Added real support for reading a plan sheet's scale from a drawn bar-scale graphic ("0  20  40") when no printed scale ratio exists as text anywhere on the sheet — found on a real project where every sheet, including the actual floor plan, only ever drew the scale, never printed it as a ratio.
  • New comparison page: ReadMyBlueprint vs. 1build & ProEst.

Listed on G2, another insulation-reading bug fixed, and a new blog post

  • ReadMyBlueprint is now listed on G2, with real pricing, screenshots, and a description — on top of the existing Capterra/GetApp/Software Advice listing.
  • Fixed a second, different insulation-reading bug: plumbing riser diagram labels ("R-1," "R-2," etc.) were being misread as insulation R-values on some sheets. See the original bug writeup for the first version of this issue.
  • New post: what real G2/Capterra/Trustpilot reviews of competitor takeoff tools actually complain about — and why it's exactly the problem our confirm-before-it-counts labeling exists to solve.

A new logo, a real video hero, and a fixed insulation-reading bug

  • New brand mark site-wide — a ruler-and-tick-mark "R" — replacing the plain blue square.
  • The homepage now opens with a real animated hero and two on-site feature videos instead of a static mockup.
  • Fixed a real bug where an unrelated door-size legend entry could be misread as an implausible insulation R-value; the same class of issue was found and closed in CMU/wythe reading too. See the full writeup.
  • Fixed a display bug where a manually-counted item (not tied to a clicked measurement) could show up as "Element None" in your results and exports instead of a real label.
  • Fixed the site's own navigation menu disappearing or overflowing on certain tablet and laptop window sizes.

Faster, cleaner, and mobile-friendly

  • The plan workspace now works properly on a phone — review results and add anything auto-detect missed from the jobsite, not just a desktop.
  • Routine security and dependency updates across the platform.

First-time offer, a real getting-started guide, and a clearer results view

  • New accounts get their first plan set free — once per account.
  • Added a full step-by-step guide, right on the page, covering upload through export.
  • Auto-detect now shows a live progress estimate instead of a bare "reading plan…" spinner.
  • Results are now a real category grid — Metal, Lumber, Drywall, Insulation, CMU — instead of one mixed list, with a one-click CSV export straight from the results.
  • Unspecified wall thicknesses are grouped sensibly instead of listing dozens of near-duplicate rows for normal measurement noise.

Public launch: accounts, billing, and full auto-detection

  • Real accounts with private, isolated data per customer — your plans are never visible to anyone else.
  • Subscriptions and one-time uploads, backed by a 7-day money-back guarantee.
  • Full-plan-set auto-detection shipped for the first time: metal framing, wood framing, drywall, plywood, insulation, and CMU block, read directly from your drawing's own geometry and wall-type legend.
  • Password reset and email notifications added.
  • Live error monitoring and uptime checks turned on across the whole platform.

Core takeoff engine hardened against real-world plan sets

  • Fixed a measurement bug affecting some rotated large-format sheets (common on D/E-size architectural and civil drawings) — every affected page re-verified against hand-calculated values after the fix, with zero regressions.
  • Added a coverage check that tells you when a page couldn't be fully read, instead of silently returning a partial result.
